The best nights out in London this week

The best nights out in London this week

It's not quite Christmas party season yet, but we all know it’s getting scarily close. You’ll probably just be able to scrape through the week without some dodgy festive remix ruining your night out, so best to soak up all the great stuff and enjoy clubbing normality while you can. Here are the best nights out in London this week.

Pitchfork Music Festival

Tastemaking music publication Pitchfork is taking over the city with an eclectic programme of hot names playing various London venues. With everything from indie rock to live techno, hip hop to ambient electronic, the line-up truly spans all popular genres, meaning you’ll probably find something to suit your tastes with not much bother at all. Luckily, it looks like there are still tickets available for a handful of shows, including: Stereolab, black midi, Danise Chaila, Anna Meredith, and Mykki Blanco. Better get your hands on some quick.

PC Music, Anna Meredith, Giant Swan, Eartheater, Remi Wolf, and more. Various venues. Nov 10-14. Tickets available here.

Origins: Jossy Mitsu, Adam Pits and more

Heading up the bill for this steamy Corsica session is Jossy Mitsu, an of-the-moment UK garage DJ carving all sorts of new, spiky shapes into bass music. To make things even more interesting, she’ll be playing b2b with globally recognised techno and breakbeat head, Third Son. Joining them, among others, is Adam Pits, the spacey, bassy producer who is swiftly making a name for himself with his string of catchy 2021 releases and hypnotic mixing. If you can spare £25 on a ticket, this is definitely one to experience.

Jossy Mitsu b2b Third Son, Adam Pits, Breaka, Gallegos & Mariiin. Corsica Studios, SE17 1LB. Sat Nov 13. 11pm-6am. Tickets from £25

Obligated with Oblig, Novelist, Fizzler, Q2T

Taking over one of Brixton’s most lively dancefloors, this grime-heavy line-up is a spectacular showcase of London’s homegrown talent. It’s curated by Rinse FM DJ Oblig, who’ll be playing a high-energy drill, trap, and grime set joined by prolific MC and producer Novelist, Q2T, Micofcourse and others.

Big Miz and Kassian

Big Miz is a feelgood house and techno DJ hailing from Glasgow who’ll be bringing his Good Thing party to the heart of Soho for a Friday-night stomper. As well as incorporating plenty of soul and disco, his mixes often lean towards the heavier territories of electro and acid, with the occasional 808 bassline or shattered synth thrown in. Joining him is Kassian, a vibrant DJ duo who’ll be playing across jazz, house, and leftfield.

Big Miz and Kassian. Orange Yard, W1D 4JB. Fri Nov 12. 11pm-5am. Tickets from £10.
