London boasts plenty of top-quality pizza. This much we know. Every year pizzerias in the capital pick up various accolades and this year has been no different, whether that be at the two London pizzas that made the 2024 list by 50 Top Pizza or Chiswick’s Napoli on the Road being named Europe’s best pizza place.
And now London has been awarded even more pizza awards – or, more accurately, several pizza chains which have outposts in the city are now officially award-winning. Enter: 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2024, which is an awards list from the same people that do 50 Top Pizza. As the name implies, instead of recognising the best individual pizza restos, these awards celebrate the best chains.
In 2024’s 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains list, several London pizza brands made the cut. Placing highest was Big Mamma Group, which is in London but also France, Spain, Germany and Birmingham. In London Big Mamma Group has five restaurants: Gloria, Circolo Popolare London, Ave Mario, Jacuzzi and Carlotta.
The next brand in the list which also has outposts in London is Berberé, which has branches in Clapham and Kentish Town – and another opening at Tottenham Court Road on December 5. Rounding out the top 10 were two more chains with London restaurants: Pizza Pilgrims in seventh and Eataly in ninth.
You can find the full top 50 – which also includes the likes of Rudy’s and Rossopomodoro – on the official 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains website here.
