At the end of last year, food hall operator Market Place launched a mega five-storey hall in Leicester Square. It was the fifth site in the brand’s London portfolio (following others in Harrow, St Paul’s, Vauxhall, Peckham) and it’s now the largest indoor food hall in the whole city. But why stop there? Now, Market Place is gearing up for its sixth outlet in the capital – and it’ll be the first of its kind.
The brand is opening the UK’s very first train station food hall at Victoria Station this autumn. Spanning 5,000 square feet, there’ll be 10 food and drinks stalls and space for more than 200 diners. In the middle of the site will be the bar, fully stocked with craft beers and cocktails.
We don’t know what traders will be there yet but we do know that they’ll represent an eclectic mix of global cuisines (vendors in other branches include Club Mexicana, Duck Shed, Freewheelin Pizza and Tikka Nation). The venue will also be kitted out with screens that’ll show major sporting events.
