Kate Middleton is hosting a carol service at Westminster Abbey

The famously picture-perfect royal Kate Middleton is set to step into the limelight (in a doubtless very tasteful and unassuming sort of way) this Christmas by hosting a special carol service at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday 8th December. She'll preside over a night of festive faves sung by Westminster Abbey choir, as well as introducing readings and performances by a carefully-curated collection of special guests.

Does this sound up your street? Well, check your doormat for an official invite first: Prince William and Kate's Instagram account shared a pic of the gold-monogrammed invitations that are being sent to attendees. As a statement from Kensington Palace says, 'The event will bring together inspirational individuals from across the UK who have gone above and beyond to care for and protect those in need during the pandemic'. That includes volunteers, charity workers, teachers, emergency responders and other all-round good eggs.

There are also likely to be more royals in attendance, although it's yet to be confirmed whether royal kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will come along. Is your festive FOMO reaching dangerous levels? Well fear not, the whole shebang will be broadcast on ITV on a special programme in December. Get your most regal Christmas jumper out and prepare for a night in that's fit for a Duchess.
