This London hotel has been named one of the best to visit next year in Condé Nast Traveller’s Gold List 2025

London has loads of hotels. We’ve got everything from budget friendly B&Bs to swish luxury hotels, and some of them are just damn iconic.  Now, a new list of the world’s best hotels has come out, and one of them is in London.

Every year, Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) publishes ‘The Gold List’, ranking the best of the best when it comes to hotels and resorts around the world.

London’s very own Connaught, in Mayfair (obvs), made this year’s CNT gold list for Europe. The uber-pricey and posh hotel is one of London’s only haunts where you’ll get your own butler, and has its own ‘secured gun cabinet room’ – for the hunting season, of course. The Connaught, which CNT called ‘one of the smartest hotels in London’ is also famous for its legendary bar where the martinis are to die for.

Here’s what CNT wrote about the place:‘The Connaught started life in 1815 as the Prince of Saxe-Coburg Hotel, and since then has had facelifts as well as the additions of a wing, an Aman spa, and a 1930s-style ballroom – all without losing its original spirit.’

It added: ‘The private art collection bedazzles: a Graham Sutherland landscape here, a Barbara Hepworth lithograph there. Despite the grandeur, everyone is treated with trademark down-to-earth service. Blending heritage and creature comforts, rooms and suites by Guy Oliver promise style and a soft landing.’

Two other UK hotels also made this year’s CNT list, read about them here.
