London tube closures this weekend: the full list of travel disruption for January 31-February 2

London tube closures this weekend: the full list of travel disruption for January 31-February 2

January is over and now it’s time to get out of hibernation and start making weekend plans again. Of course, this being London, those plans probably include catching a train or tube or two. So it’s always best to figure out your journey ahead of time. Especially because weekends tend to be the prime time for closures and transport disruption.

If you’ve got big weekend arrangements that involve getting from one side of London to the other, this guide is for you. Luckily, with huge Lunar New Year celebrations (including the parade) happening across central London, this weekend is safe from the Piccadilly line closures planned for the next six months – the navy blue line will be running as normal on Saturday and Sunday.

Here are all the tube, Overground and train service closures you need to keep in mind this weekend.

Elizabeth line

On Saturday and Sunday, there’ll be no Lizzie line services between Stratford and Shenfield. Passengers will be able to hop on replacement buses instead.

Also on Sunday, there are no Elizabeth line trains running from 12.04am until 7.40am between Paddington and Ealing Broadway. From 7.40am onwards, there’s a reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4 / Maidenhead. There will only be two trains per hour serving Acton Main Line, Hanwell, Heathrow Terminal 4, West Drayton, Langley, Slough, Burnham and Maidenhead; four per hour serving West Ealing and Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 and six per hour serving Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington.

Hammersmith and City

There will be no Hammersmith and City trains between Plaistow and Barking from 10am to 6pm on Sunday. TfL suggests that you use District line services instead.

Waterloo and City

There’s no service on the Waterloo and City line on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.

Overground

Liberty

Across the whole weekend, the Liberty line won’t be running between Romford and Upminster. You’re best option is to use London buses.

Mildmay

No Mildmay trains are running between Gospel Oak and Stratford on either Saturday or Sunday.  There will be a replacement bus operating between Hampstead Heath and Stratford via Gospel Oak, Kentish Town West, Camden Road, Holloway Road Highbury & Islington, Canonbury, Dalston Junction, Hackney Central, Homerton and Hackney Wick.

Windrush

For the whole weekend, Windrush trains won’t be Highbury and Islington and New Cross, Clapham Junction, Battersea Park, Crystal Palace or West Croydon. That includes Friday and Saturday Night Overground.

Replacement buses will be in action during the day but at night, TfL says you should use London buses and Night Tube services instead.
