London travel disruption this weekend: full list of tube and train closures for July 4-5 2026

Piccadilly line users, we have excellent news. After a couple of weekends of severe disruption, the navy blue line isn’t scheduled to be hit by closures on July 4-5. However, other lines will be hit by planned service changes, with Hammersmith & City and District lines and the DLR all set for disruption.

But don’t let a bit of transport bother keep you from enjoying the best that London has to offer. This weekend the capital has a bunch of excellent things to see and do, from Tate’s new Frida Kahlo exhibition and BST Hyde Park to continuing World Cup fever and the final shows of Harry Styles’ Wembley residency.

Hammersmith & City line

• On Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5, no service on the entire line.
  • There are also no c2c trains running between Fenchurch Street and West Ham

District line

• On Sat Jul 4 and Sun Jul 5, no trains between Tower Hill and Upminster.

DLR

• On Sat Jul 4 and Sun Jul 5, no trains between Prince Regent and Beckton.

Mildmay line (Overground)

• From 7.30pm on Sat Jul 4 until 12pm on Sun Jul 5, no trains between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction.
  • During the same period, a reduced service will run between Clapham Junction and Shepherd’s Bush.

Closed on weekends and bank holidays, as always (but could that soon change?).
